QIPP CASE STUDY

Each year we pick a selection of shared learning examples that deserve special recognition. There are now more than examples of best practice quality and productivity examples on the QIPP collection, with more added each month. New examples will be eligible for the award. Since our shared learning example was published we have been contacted by many centres from around the UK, allowing us to share our project and learn from others. Provided by the British Society of Gastroenterology in collaboration with Bolton Foundation Trust, the scheme proposed a multidisciplinary team running across primary and secondary care to develop a coordinated alcohol treatment and prevention programme. We check that they are in line with our recommendations and quality statements.

It is thought that implementing the scheme would improve quality through freeing up time and through reducing admissions and readmissions.
